Overview

The Support Our Students Enrichment Program (S.O.S.) is a Summer Enrichment Camp for high school students who will begin their freshmen year and continue through 11th grade. The program is a district and community partnership initiative that offers exceptional learning opportunities and career enrichment activities, inspiring students to discover, embrace, and develop agency since its establishment in 2017. The program aligns with Florida’s Resiliency Education Standards (Character, Personal Responsibility, Mentorship and Citizenship, and Critical Thinking and Problem Solving).

The SOS Core Classes for all students include:

College & Career Exploration (Critical Thinking and Problem Solving): Students will demonstrate a clear understanding of the college and career exploration process and how their own skills and interests align with a chosen major and/or career path.

Budgeting & Personal Finance (Personal Responsibility): Students will demonstrate a clear understanding of managing their personal finances and budgets.

Leadership Development (Mentorship and Citizenship): Students will demonstrate an understanding of the leadership skills needed to be successful in the ever-advancing world and job market. Leadership Development also includes subsidized internship opportunities for qualifying returning students, with the school district partnering with community-based organizations, civic leaders, and a broad section of business and governmental entities to offer job/internship opportunities for students.
