The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools and Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center Celebrate the Arts at Annual Wicked Walk

FORT MYERS, FL — The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools celebrated another successful year of Wicked Walk, a two-day event held on October 23 and 24 at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center. The annual event showcases the incredible creativity and talent of Lee County’s visual and performing arts students.

This year’s Wicked Walk brought together over 1,000 students and 60 participating teachers from schools across the district, transforming the downtown Fort Myers venue into an immersive, Halloween-themed experience filled with art installations, live performances, and student-led exhibits.

The community showed up in full force, with 1,128 tickets sold, helping raise funds that will go directly toward benefiting the performing arts teachers of Lee County — providing classroom resources and enhancing arts education opportunities for students across the district.

Guests enjoyed two unforgettable evenings of music, dance, theater, and visual art — all created and performed by local students.

“Wicked Walk is a vibrant celebration of our students’ creativity and talent,” said Noelle Branning, Board Chair of The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. “Through visual and performing arts, students bring their imaginations to life in ways that inspire the entire community. We’re grateful to the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center for providing a beautiful venue that allows the students’ artistry to shine, and proud that proceeds support arts education throughout Lee County.”

Dr. Jason Thomashefsky, Assistant Director of Arts, Athletics, and Activities for The School District of Lee County, also praised the event.

“Wicked Walk was an outstanding event that showcased the creativity and talent of our students while celebrating the incredible work our arts teachers do every day,” said Dr. Thomashefsky. “Events like this remind us of the power of the arts in education—and the importance of continued support and funding to keep these opportunities thriving for all students.”

Janelle Laux, Theatre Director at North Fort Myers High School, shared similar sentiments about the impact of the event.

“Wicked Walk is always a great event. I love seeing the arts in our schools come together to create a night of art’s collaboration and celebration,” said Laux. “Lee County Schools has the most talented students, and it’s great to have an outlet for them to showcase their abilities to the public. Thank you to The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, and Dr. Jason Thomashefsky who allow this event to be such a success. It’s always a highlight of my year.”

The Foundation extends a heartfelt thank you to our event Title Sponsor, Lake Michigan Credit Union, for their generous support, as well as to Aveda Institutes and Cadence Music for their continued partnership and commitment to empowering student creativity.

The Foundation also wishes to thank the teachers, volunteers, staff, and community members whose hard work made the event possible, along with our vendors and food service partners — Kona Ice, the East Lee County High School Culinary Team, and Taco Works — for providing delicious food and refreshments throughout the event.
