The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools Hosts Annual New Teacher Social to Welcome Educators

FORT MYERS, FL — On Wednesday, July 30, the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools proudly hosted its annual New Teacher Social, welcoming close to 300 new educators to the Lee County School District. This much anticipated tradition celebrates the start of the school year by recognizing and supporting those stepping into Lee County classrooms for the first time.

Held in partnership with the School District of Lee County and generously sponsored by Suncoast Credit Union, the event offered a warm and festive atmosphere where new teachers were celebrated and made to feel part of the education community from day one.

Throughout the evening, new educators were treated to refreshments and enjoyed a relaxed environment where they could meet and connect with fellow new teachers. The event offered valuable time to build relationships, exchange ideas, and begin forming a support network with peers who are embarking on the same journey.

Each teacher also received a bag filled with essential classroom resources and school supplies, helping them kick off the school year with the tools they need to succeed. These bags served as both a practical gift and a symbol of the community’s investment in their success.

“We loved meeting our new teachers and making them feel welcome and appreciated,” said Marshall T. Bower, President & CEO of The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. “They are all so excited to be working with our community’s greatest asset, our students.”

The Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to the many donors and community partners whose generosity made this event possible. Their contributions allowed the Foundation to provide supplies and support to incoming educators as they prepare to inspire and lead students across Lee County.
