The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools Hosts its Annual Golden Apple Teacher Social

Fort Myers, FL – On February 21st, 2025, The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools proudly hosted its highly anticipated annual Golden Apple Social, a signature event that celebrates the commitment of educators and supports the Foundation’s mission to enhance public education across the district. The event was made even more special through an exciting collaboration with Chico’s FAS, Inc., a longstanding partner dedicated to supporting education in our community.

The Golden Apple Social is open to all thirty Finalists, Teachers of Distinction, Major and Silver Sponsors, Principals, and members of the Academy of Teachers. The event offered a unique opportunity for these educators to come together, celebrate their achievements, and connect with peers. The mixer provided a space to share best practices in the classroom, discuss personal experiences, and exchange ideas, all while enjoying a fun and relaxed evening. Attendees also had the chance to win exciting prizes in the raffle, adding an extra layer of excitement to the festivities.

“Teachers are the heart and soul of our community,” said Marshall T. Bower, Esq. President & CEO of The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. “It is their responsibility to prepare our communities’ greatest asset, our students for a lifetime of success. For that reason, we owe our teachers both respect and thanks for all they do!”

This year, the culinary experience was provided by the talented East Lee County High School Culinary Team, whose expertly crafted dishes delighted guests throughout the evening. The students’ culinary creations showcased their skill and creativity, with a range of delectable appetizers and entrees that were met with rave reviews.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, Swamp Cat Brewing Company provided a selection of their signature craft beers, allowing attendees to enjoy local brews while mingling and celebrating the achievements of the Lee County educators.

This collaborative event highlighted the dedication and passion of those working to enhance education and foster student success throughout the district. The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools looks forward to continuing this tradition of recognition and support for the remarkable teachers and educators who make a difference every day in our schools.
