Annual Back to School Supply Drive to be held June 25th – August 5th

The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools and Supporting Businesses Collect Supplies for Educators and Students

Fort Myers, FL (July 1, 2020)The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, Inc. is holding its annual Back to School Supply Drive from June 25th – August 5th  at several participating locations throughout Lee County and at the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. Donations will benefit the Foundation’s Education Resource Center which provides Lee County School District educators access to new and reusable classroom supplies at no cost. During this uncertain time we want to ensure that educators and students have the necessary tools to succeed.

Suggested donations include notebook paper, pens, #2 pencils, crayons, glue sticks, rulers, notebooks, three-ring binders, scissors, and backpacks.  The Foundation wants to thank all the participating community and business partners for giving back and supporting our educators and students.

“Our teachers do an excellent job of engaging our students in learning and preparing them for their futures as productive citizens, however, if a student does not have the tools necessary to succeed, then learning at the highest level cannot take place,” said Marshall T. Bower, President & CEO of The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. “With 75% of our students qualifying for free or reduced lunch, the need is very high in our school district and this supply drive helps to ensure that all students come to school prepared to learn.
