FORT MYERS, Fla. (June 3, 2024) – Bank of America has awarded $20,000 to The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools to support the organization’s workforce development programs to help Lee County high school students achieve success.

The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools aims to develop and encourage resilience for low-income students through assorted STEM experiences, peer to peer mentoring and summer opportunities. Programs such as Peer-to-Peer Mentoring (P2P) and #LEELISTENS give students motivation to tackle problems both inside and outside of the classroom by instilling characteristics like problem-solving, perseverance and self-awareness. In addition, the College & Career Center offers workshops and resources to prepare students for post-secondary education, technical training and entering the workforce. The business community supports the program by participating in and providing guidance in monthly workshops and student mentoring.
