Foundation for Lee County Public Schools Hosts its 4th Annual Young Men L.E.A.D Summit
Fort Myers, FL – The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools proudly hosted its 4th Annual Young Men L.E.A.D. Summit on Friday, March 28th, at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). This inspiring event brought together high school and middle school students from across Lee County for a day of leadership development, personal growth, and empowerment.
The summit featured a series of dynamic speakers who shared their personal stories and experiences, offering invaluable insight into leadership, education, advocacy, and development. The students were able to hear from prominent community leaders, industry professionals, and motivational speakers, including Sam Fisher, serving as Board Chair of the Lee County School Board; Zavian McLean, FGCU Men’s Basketball player; Dr. Selynto Anderson, Ph.D., Chief Community Health & Impact Officer at Lee Health; and Neftali Feliciano, Chief Executive Officer of the Cancer Alliance Network. These distinguished individuals provided guidance and inspiration to help the students unlock their full potential as future leaders.
“The opportunity for these young men to network and engage with local male role models was invaluable,” said Marshall T. Bower, Esq., President & CEO of The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. “It was also refreshing and empowering to hear our male students discussing their own ideas on growth and leadership. The future appears to be in good hands!”
The event was generously supported by several key sponsors, whose contributions made the summit possible. Sponsors for this year’s event included:
- School District of Lee County
- FGCU: The Leadership Experience
- FGCU: Community Engagement & Outreach
- SWFL Alpha Educational & Leadership Foundation
- Mayor Kevin Anderson
- Suncoast Credit Union
The summit provided students not only with the tools to enhance their leadership skills but also the opportunity to engage with their peers and form lasting connections. This event is a cornerstone of The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools’ ongoing commitment to empowering young people and fostering the next generation of community leaders.
