McDonald’s Hosts Golden Apple Finalist Breakfast

FORT MYERS, FL: Thirty finalists of the Golden Apple Teacher Recognition Program attended a breakfast held in their honor and hosted by McDonald’s on Thursday, February 15th. The annual breakfast provides an opportunity for several local business and community partners, along with Lee County School Board members and the Superintendent, to meet and recognize the 2024 Golden Apple Finalists. Finalists’ photos will be featured on local McDonald’s tray liners for several weeks leading up to the Golden Apple Teacher Recognition Banquet on Friday, April 19th.

McDonald’s, represented by several owners/operators, hosted the breakfast and unveiled the new tray liners to be used in local restaurants. Teachers were treated to breakfast and given an opportunity to network with local business and community leaders and their fellow Golden Apple Finalists.

“It is so important to recognize the integral role our teachers play in helping to ensure that our students achieve at their highest potential. These students are our future employees, employers, and decision makers. McDonald’s and other area businesses understand this. The Foundation for Lee County Public School’s Board and business partners believe that the cornerstone of an economically strong community is a quality public education system. Teachers are the primary component of this system. Our community applauds our very talented educators!” -Marshall T. Bower, President, and CEO of The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools

Major Sponsors for the 2024 Golden Apple Teacher Recognition Program include Chico’s FAS, Inc., FineMark National Bank & Trust, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Lee Health, McDonald’s, NBC2, Owen-Ames-Kimball Co., The News-Press, Suffolk Construction, Suncoast Credit Union, and Waste Pro.
