(Fort Myers, FL) — The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools announces a charitable gift of a $5,000.00 amount donation from the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation. The funds will be used for the Wicked Walk fundraiser hosted by the foundation in collaboration with the School District of Lee County Arts Programs, and the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center. Wicked Walk creates an interactive, “haunted arts” tour through the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center. Participants interact and experience the production of Lee County visual and performing arts students. Profit made from ticket sales and donations go back to the participating school arts programs.
“Once again, our partners at Suncoast Credit Union are helping us to enrich and enhance the public-school experience for our students and teachers,” said Marshall T. Bower, President & CEO of the foundation. “The arts are a part of a well-rounded education that often does not receive the attention it deserves. This major sponsorship of our Wicked Walk program will provide for a meaningful engagement with art while helping to return need funding to the art classrooms.”
Suncoast Credit Union, Florida’s largest credit union, founded the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation to promote the education, health, and emotional well-being of children in the community. Each time a Suncoast member uses their debit or credit card, the credit union donates two cents to the Foundation to fund local initiatives. Since its inception in 1990, the Foundation has raised and donated over $45 million.
“At Suncoast Credit Union, we believe that the arts can inspire and empower young minds,” said Bob Hyde, Vice President of Community Impact, Suncoast Credit Union. “We are proud to support the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools’ Wicked Walk event, which provides students with a platform to showcase their artistic talents and creative expressions.”
